District Geologist

Key Responsibilities:

1. Exploration Leadership:
   • Lead discovery-driven exploration programs in greenfield and mine-site environments.
   • Design and implement efficient exploration strategies aligned with organizational goals.
   • Oversee generative and due diligence programs for assigned regions.
2. Technical & Operational Management:
   • Ensure QA/QC protocols, data integrity, and compliance with safety/environmental standards.
   • Coordinate geotechnical, mineral modeling, and ore reserve estimation with technical teams.
   • Prepare budgets, reports, and project proposals; allocate resources effectively.
3. Team Development:
   • Mentor junior geologists (Exploration/Project/Senior Geologists).
   • Foster a safety-conscious, results-driven culture with cross-cultural collaboration.
4. Strategic & Analytical Focus:
   • Interpret 3D geology from geophysical/geochemical data; develop ore body models.
   • Evaluate mineral economics, project feasibility, and new commodities/terrains.

Required Skills:

Technical:

• Expertise in 2+ exploration terrains and 2+ commodities (e.g., Cu, Ni, Au, Li, REE).
• Proficiency in GIS (ArcPro), QA/QC, and field operations (mapping, sampling, logistics).
• Budgeting, financial management, and deposit modeling.

Behavioral:

• Strategic thinker with decisiveness and production-oriented mindset.
• Strong interpersonal skills (delegation, negotiation, cross-cultural collaboration).
• Ability to communicate complex geology to technical and non-technical audiences.

Qualifications:

• Education: Bachelor’s/MSc in Geoscience (PhD is a plus).
• Experience: 10-15 years in mineral exploration (grassroots to resource development).
• Certifications: Familiarity with mining regulations (e.g., Occupational Health and Safety Act).
