Principal Geoscience Specialist

Key Responsibilities

Technical Leadership

• Design and implement exploration methodologies, SOPs, and feasibility studies.
• Solve complex geological problems (e.g., structure, mineralogy) in the field.
• Lead ore body modeling and drill-site selection, ensuring discoveries.
• Apply multi-commodity expertise (Cu, Ni, Zn, Li, Au, REE, etc.) in Archean terrains.

Team Development

• Mentor field geologists, ensuring skill development in modern exploration techniques.
• Lead cross-functional teams and manage multiple projects/budgets.

Strategic & Operational

• Develop business unit strategies and reprioritize projects.
• Represent Ma’aden externally (conferences, media) and internally as a subject-matter expert.

Required Skills

Technical

• Multicontinent exploration experience in ≥2 terrains and ≥3 commodities.
• Mastery of GIS (ArcPro), geophysics, QA/QC, and data management.
• Field operations leadership (mapping, sampling, safety compliance).

Behavioral

• Leadership: Strong mentorship, multicultural team management.
• Communication: Ability to convey technical concepts to non-technical audiences.
• Problem-Solving: Pattern recognition, predictive modeling, and adaptability.

Management

• Proven track record in program design, budget management, and delivering targets.

Qualifications

• Education: MSc/PhD in Geoscience (essential).
• Experience:
  • 15+ years in greenfield/brownfield exploration (grassroots to resource definition).
  • Discovery history and proven project management skills.
• Language: Fluent English (Arabic advantageous).
