Principal Geochemist

Key Responsibilities

Technical Leadership:

• Design/implement geochemical sampling programs for mineral exploration.
• Develop methodologies, SOPs, and predictive models for ore targeting.
• Interpret geochemical data to identify anomalies/mineralization patterns.
• Integrate geochemical data with geological models.

Exploration Excellence:

• Mentor field geologists and ensure team development in geochemical techniques.
• Stay updated on emerging technologies and industry best practices.
• Support feasibility studies and resource estimation.

Operational & Strategic:

• Lead multiple exploration projects across diverse terrains (multi-commodity: Cu, Ni, Zn, Li, Au, REE, etc.).
• Approve drill site selection and prioritize exploration targets.
• Ensure compliance with safety, environmental, and regulatory standards.

Required Skills

Technical/Cognitive:

• Multicontinent experience (Archean Crust expertise preferred).
• Proficiency in geochemical software, GIS (ArcPro), and statistical tools.
• Strong pattern recognition and problem-solving in covered terrains.
• Discovery history and ability to shift commodity focus rapidly.

Behavioral:

• Leadership, mentorship, and cross-cultural collaboration.
• Passion for fieldwork and problem-solving.
• Excellent communication (English) for internal/external stakeholders.

Management:

• Program design, country/area management, and business strategy implementation.
• Experience leading multidisciplinary teams and managing budgets.

Ideal Candidate Profile

• A seasoned geochemist with a track record of discoveries and multi-commodity expertise.
• Combines deep technical knowledge with leadership to drive exploration innovation.
• Adaptable to diverse geological settings and committed to mentoring junior staff.
• Bachelor’s + MSc/PhD in Geoscience (preferred).
• Professional certifications/memberships desirable
