Job Summary
The Gantry Specialist is responsible for the operation, inspection, maintenance, and troubleshooting of gantry systems, including gantry cranes and gantry automation equipment. The role ensures safe, efficient, and reliable operation in accordance with safety standards, manufacturer guidelines, and operational requirements.
Key Responsibilities
- Operate gantry cranes and gantry systems safely and efficiently.
- Perform routine inspections and preventive maintenance on gantry equipment.
- Diagnose and troubleshoot mechanical, electrical, and hydraulic issues.
- Coordinate with maintenance and engineering teams for repairs and upgrades.
- Ensure compliance with safety regulations, company procedures, and site policies.
- Monitor gantry performance and report faults, defects, or abnormal conditions.
- Maintain accurate maintenance and operation records.
- Support installation, commissioning, and testing of new gantry systems.
- Train operators and technicians on safe operation and basic troubleshooting.
- Respond promptly to breakdowns to minimize downtime.
Requirements & Qualifications
- Diploma or Technical Certification in Mechanical, Electrical, or Industrial Engineering (preferred).
- Minimum 3–5 years of experience working with gantry cranes or gantry systems.
- Strong knowledge of mechanical, electrical, and hydraulic systems.
- Familiarity with PLC systems and automation is an advantage.
- Ability to read technical drawings, schematics, and manuals.
- Knowledge of safety standards related to lifting equipment (OSHA, ISO, or equivalent).
- Physically fit and able to work at heights and in industrial environments.
- Good communication and teamwork skills.
Preferred Skills
- Experience in ports, shipyards, logistics terminals, oil & gas, or heavy industry.
- Certification for crane operation or lifting equipment.
- Experience with CMMS or maintenance reporting systems.
- Problem-solving and analytical skills.
What We Offer
- Competitive Compensation: Basic Salary SAR 6,000 – 6,500 (GH¢17,542 – 19,000) per month.
